UWCSEA Teachers Witness the Impact of Student Fundraising in Cambodia

This month, TGF welcomed three Grade 5 teachers from our long-term partner school, UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA), Singapore, for a field visit to Siem Reap Province. The visit marked an important step in preparing for next year’s UWC Service Week, which will take place at one of our supported schools in Chi Kraeng District.

Over the years, UWCSEA Grade 5 students have not only raised funds to support TGF’s community projects but also gained a deeper understanding of Cambodia, education, and sustainable development. Their annual fundraising efforts help children and families in rural communities access better schooling, livelihood opportunities, and more resilient futures.

During the pre-visit, the teachers learned more about TGF’s programs and how their students’ fundraising directly supports Cambodian families. They also explored ways for Grade 5 students to give back through hands-on projects during their Service Week. On their final day in Cambodia, the teachers visited several innovative TGF projects connected to their curriculum, including biofuel production, water systems, and income generation initiatives.

This partnership is about more than fundraising – it’s about learning, global connection, and shared purpose. By linking classroom learning with real-world experiences, UWCSEA students gain insight into how small actions can create lasting change.

We look forward to welcoming the next group of UWCSEA students and teachers in Cambodia soon and continuing this inspiring collaboration that bridges classrooms across borders.
