TGF Scholarship Students Complete Primary School

This month, TGF proudly celebrated an exciting milestone – the first five scholarship students have completed primary school under our renewed Children’s Education Program Strategy.

Three years ago, these five children and their families joined our scholarship program. Since then, we have supported them every school year from Grade 4 to Grade 6, helping them stay in school and succeed. All five students improved their academic results year by year, finishing Grade 6 with end-of-year scores on average around 10% higher than when they started.

Our scholarships go beyond helping students with school costs. We also work closely with their families to make sure they have the stability and confidence to support their children’s learning.

Each scholarship includes:

  • School support: yearly scholarship and learning materials, with parents encouraged to join school meetings and stay engaged.

  • Family livelihood support: a one-time small business investment to help parents strengthen or start income-generating activities.

  • Farmer Field School training: families join TGF’s training on poultry, fish, and vegetable farming to boost food security and income.

  • Community Savings Groups: all families become part of our local savings groups, learning about financial planning and group lending.

This joined-up approach means the benefits go far beyond the classroom – children can focus on their studies while families build more stable livelihoods.

These five students are the first to complete primary school through our renewed CEP Strategy, and they have set a wonderful example for others.

As they move into secondary school, we are confident they will continue to grow, learn, and inspire others in their communities.

We are proud of their hard work and grateful to the teachers, parents, and community members who have supported them on this journey.
